Essentials of ID/IS is the first of six courses in both the Instructional Design Certificate program and the Instructional Technology Certificate Program. Its purpose is to provide a general overview of the basic concepts and principles that every instructional designer and technologist needs to know in order to create educationally sound instruction. Learners will be guided through the process of creating a design document for a chosen scenario, with an emphasis on alignment of assessments and activities with learning objectives.
This course is the first in a series of six courses for either the Instructional Design or Instructional Technology certificate. This course will provide foundational information regarding both instructional design and instructional technology. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, careers in the fields of instructional design and instructional technology are expected to grow 7% and the median salary for these professions are $62,270.
